Wall mount would not hold speaker. Speaker is 15 pounds. Could not tighten ball enough. Speaker kept slipping.
Drilled hole through ball and used screw but it would not hold.

My speakers weigh 7.7 lbs, according to the manual. I tried Sanus mounts rated for "Up to 8 pounds". The mounts weren't able to hold the speaker from sagging all the down to the wall. I can't believe they didn't break under the strain. I took them down and threw those cheap plastic things in the trash.
The OmniMounts do what speaker mounts are supposed to do, and they do it well. I first tried to save money buying the cheaper product. It ended up costing me more when I had to buy the wall mounts twice. What a hassle all that was!
Do it right the first time, people. Buy mounts with more than enough capacity and get happy with 'em (like I am with mine)

The mount held my Triad Speakers tightly against the wall with no movement. I read other reviews of this mount saying that it slips. I didn't experience any slippage at all. The key is really tightening the allen screw, which isn't easy to do in the tight space between the speaker and the wall. I recommend not using the included, standard "L" shape wrench. Instead, use an allen wrench set that you typically find in bike shops. These require a bit less space than the standard ones. All in all, a good mount.

Advertised as handling 20 pounds. The speakers weigh 15 pounds and the mount was unable to support the weight.
