TV Cart Buying Guide
How to select and purchase a mobile television cart
Save time and money with one of our TV carts. For mobility and cost-effectiveness, you can't beat a TV cart: a TV on a wheeled cart can serve as a more-than-suitable replacement for separate installations in multiple classrooms, conference rooms, boardrooms, etc. Best of all, you won't have to pay through the teeth for a cart: if you're ordering in bulk, we might even be able to get you a better price! Give us a call with questions.
The key to selecting the right cart is checking your dimensions: in other words, you want to make sure your TV will fit on the cart. This may seem like a no-brainer, but you'll need to check the dimensions of your TV's "footprint": that is, the dimensions and shape of the bottom of the TV. These aren't always the same as the overall dimensions of the TV that the manufacturer prints: sometimes the rear of the TV will extend beyond the footprint, which you don't have to take in to consideration. The most reliable method of getting these dimensions is using a measuring tape yourself - set the TV down on a flat surface and measure the dimensions of whatever touches that surface. Anything that extends beyond the backside of the footprint will also extend beyond the backside of the cart.
Once you've figured out the dimensions of your TV's footprint, you'll need to find a cart with a top shelf that will fit it. The safest bet is to give your TV a few inches of berth in length and width so that it will rest securely on top of the cart. You can use our Superbrowse feature on the lefthand side of the screen to narrow down carts by their dimensions. Furthermore, check the weight capacity of the cart to make sure it will support the weight of your TV.
Whether or not you want a metal TV cart or a plastic TV cart is up to you. You can also choose between adjustable height carts or ones with a fixed height. If you have any questions, or you're having trouble finding the TV cart you're looking for, just give us a call!
