These stands are rated to hold up to 40 pounds and my surround speakers weight in at 18 pounds each. This stand works perfectly in handling that weight. However, since the base is actually a bit smaller than advertised(which I feel takes away from making it a more stable stand), I put a 10 pound weight on each base plate to give it better stability. I set my surrounds at a height of 51 inches and have had absolutely no problems. These stands have a good, solid feel to them. Highly recommend.

Use in the Living Room in front of a large window for side surround speakers. Probably the sturdiest floor stand out there that is adjustable. Although the carpet stakes are great for carpet, they are not so good for hard surface flooring [being sharp metal. Have to be all 4 adjusted perfectly for the stand to be non-tilting and stable].

The stands are solid and well made, cables are hidden well. They are more stable on wood floors than carpet. They are functional but don't blend in with llivingroom furniture well.

Grabbed a set for use with my computer's 5.1 surround sound wireless speakers, and I am quite pleased with these stands. Not only were they quick and easy to setup, they have proven very sturdy on my carpet. Can definitely recommend!

I bought these stands because they are height-adjustable and because the price was reasonable. When I put them together, I tightened one bolt that holds the stand to the base too much and stripped the bolt. That stand was so wobbly that I couldn't use it anymore. Be careful, the bolts are made of soft metal and can be damaged from overtightening very easily!
Also note that if you raise these stands to their maximum height, they are going to be pretty unstable; bumping into one can easily knock the speaker off.

One of the stands that I received had a defective threaded hole for the height adjustment screw. I called the manufacturer and they sent out a new piece right away. I was very pleased with their quick response and customer service.

Set these up at my comuter station for a perfect ear level speaker placement. placed a/d/s 570's on them and they are pretty sturdy. speakers weigh
aprox 30 lbs each. recommend these, i would buy again. The only thing i dont like is the hand tightening knob design. It it to bulkey and could be more sleek. it does do its job though.
